Identity work for Snøhus, a brand born from Scandinavian spirit offering architectural plans and beautiful bespoke cabins to be built as home offices or spaces to slow down, switch off and reconnect. The vision was to design and build cabins that would offer the architectural quality and comfort of a hotel suite, yet leave no trace on their environment. The visual and verbal identities needed to reflect that vision.

TONE OF VOICE

The identity was built from a down-to-earth approach that reflects the essence of the product: bold self-assurance, thoughtfully considered spaces, and sophisticated visuals. We developed a visual system, and verbal identity that allowed for a bold but minimal presence: pragmatic layouts with ample use of negative space and solid blocks, a rich colour palette, and an overall sense of clarity.

The brand is built around a simple wordmark, embedded with a visual reference to the traditional pitched roof house. This device is also used to present imagery, messaging, and can function as a stand-alone logomark.

I wanted the brand to celebrate material, form and aesthetic, while keeping the colour palette natural and in connection with the great outdoors. As a result, the brand is confident, considered and wholly without ego.
